Hyundai deepens partnership with Coastal Empire Ronald McDonald House Charities, Coastal Georgia Season 2, and Duck Unlimited.
Savannah, Ga, March 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Hyundai has announced new support for three leading nonprofit organizations serving the Savannah area: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Coastal Empire, Second Season of Coastal Georgia, and Ducks Unlimited. The investment underscores Hyundai’s long-term commitment to the communities surrounding Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), Hyundai Motor Group’s first dedicated electric/electric vehicle mass production plant in Bryan County, Georgia. Through its Hyundai Hope initiative, the company continues to support programs that improve community health, strengthen food security, and protect Georgia’s coastal natural environment.

Hyundai’s leadership vision “Hyundai is proud to continue investing in Georgia’s coastal community,” said Drew Ferguson, vice president of government affairs, Hyundai Motor Group and Georgia native. “Progress for humanity begins by showing the communities that power our success. With HMGMA closely involved, we recognize a shared responsibility as a long-term partner in this region, supporting organizations that strengthen health and well-being, protect natural resources, and build resilience for future generations.”
Supporting families through Ronald McDonald House Charities Since 2023, Hyundai has donated $45,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Coastal Empire, which provides a supportive home-like environment for children receiving medical treatment and their families. The organization’s free programs offer accommodations, whole-person care, and emotional support that keep families close, helping children recover more comfortably and quickly.
“At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Coastal Empire, we believe that when a child is in the hospital, the family stays. Hyundai’s partnership helps make that possible,” said Billy Sorochuk, president of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Coastal Empire. “Hyundai’s support ensures that families facing the unimaginable have a place to stay together, close to the care their child needs. It’s more than a donation, it’s a commitment to compassion, stability, and the simple but powerful truth that healing is best when family is close.”
Strengthening food security with the second crop Hyundai has contributed $60,000 to Coastal Georgia’s second season through 2022. The organization serves as the primary hunger relief network for the region, distributing food through partner agencies and operational programs that serve children, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Hyundai and HMGMA employees also volunteer to help with the food bank’s Brown Bag for the Elderly program, which provides food assistance to seniors age 60 and older who are facing hunger. More than 300 bags were packed with food items such as hot cocoa, coffee, tea and sugar bags to help seniors enjoy hot beverages at home.
Protecting coastal ecosystems with unlimited ducks Since 2024, Hyundai has supported Ducks Unlimited with a $40,000 donation. The organization is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring wetlands—critical ecosystems that support waterfowl, enhance water quality, and strengthen climate resilience. Hyundai’s support helps conservation projects that protect coastal habitats in Georgia.
